Alpine Club of Canada Hosts Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour in Toronto

Banff centre mountain festival world tourToronto is one of 390 communities in 35 countries hosting the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, which features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival. The 2011/2012 World Tour brings audiences up-close and personal with the adrenaline-packed action sports, exotic landscapes and remote cultures of the mountain world.

Join the Alpine Club of Canada, Toronto Section when the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to Toronto at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema on March 23rd and 24th at 7:30 p.m., and March 25th at the matinee time of 2:30 p.m.

Toronto will feature films such as Cold, Kadoma, and Journey on the Wild Coast. More information including programs, previews and ticketing is available online. Tickets cost $20 per night and are available either online or at the following locations:

  • Mountain Equipment Co-op (400 King Street West, Toronto)
  • The Rock Oasis Inc. (204 – 388 Carlaw Ave, Toronto)
  • The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema – show nights only (506 Bloor Street West, Toronto)

This year’s Mountain Festival will take place at the Banff Media Centre from October 27th until November 4th.

There is still time to enter the Mountain Festival Photography Competition. Entries close on April 2nd.

Entries for the Festival’s Book Competition close on June 30th, and entries for the Film Competition will be accepted beginning in May 2012.
