exfoEXFO Inc. has announced the official launch of the MaxTester 630, featuring a new-generation Broadcom VDSL2/ADSL2+ chipset. This enhanced DSL multiplay tester enables service providers to save time and reduce repeat faults by letting them test multiple xDSL technologies within a single, dedicated solution. The MaxTester 630 can test multiple DSL technologies such as ADSL1, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL2, bonded ADSL2+ and bonded VDSL2.

The MaxTester 630 is a handheld, rugged outside plant test set perfectly fit for service providers deploying and maintaining VDSL2/ADSL2+ and advanced IP services. In addition to validating the DSL performance, it also supports a Web browser as well as data and IPTV tests to fully prove the services are meeting the performance commitments. The MaxTester’s large, color display and intuitive graphical user interface make it perfect for installation technicians to easily and quickly qualify new services.

The MaxTester 630 tests two-pair ADSL2+ and VDSL2 bonding utilizing two copper pairs to deliver DSL speeds and multiplay services over longer distances and/or at higher data rates. The new bonded test capability enables field technicians to test both pairs simultaneously, which allows them to verify correct pair bonding and provisioning.

“Integrating the new-generation Broadcom chipset to the MaxTester 630 has allowed us to add key capabilities—bonding, ADSL2+ PTM, G.vector and G.INP—to this powerful, handheld test set,” said Étienne Gagnon, EXFO’s Vice-President—Wireline Division and Corporate Marketing. “The next-generation MaxTester 630 is in line with EXFO’s mission to enable service providers to deploy access networks faster and more efficiently.”
