teletoon at nightThe wait is finally over: fans can expect a fresh taste of twisted humour when new episodes of Robot Chicken’s season five return to the “Fred at Night”lineup on Sunday, March 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. From Green Lantern to Harry Potter, Dora the Explorer and Sex and the City, no pop culture phenomenon is safe from a hilarious skewering in this latest offering from Seth Green and Matthew Senreich’s Stoopid Monkey Productions. The show won the 2010 Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program Short Format and has won a slew of other Emmys and Annie Awards since its debut.

“We know we have some rabid Robot Chicken fans up in Canada watching the show on TELETOON at Night,” said Seth Green, creator of Robot Chicken. “We’re excited to bring them new episodes this spring.”

The series brings audiences old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced satire, which are the hallmarks of this eclectic show. Action figures find new life as players in frenetic sketch-comedy vignettes that tackle TV, movies, music and celebrity. It’s television especially formulated for the Attention Deficit Disorder generation.

“Our fifth season has some of my favorite stuff in it including our monumental 100th episode that we’re all really proud of,” added Matt Senreich, creator of Robot Chicken.

Green and Senreich created, executive produce, write and sometimes direct Robot Chicken. The duo also lend their voices to the series along with celebrities like Kevin Bacon, Jon Hamm, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mary Steenburgen, JK Simmons and Elijah Wood – and that’s just in season five.

Fred Kennedy continues to host the “Fred at Night” programming block Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Fred introduces series’ episodes for the night, shares his views on the animation style, characters and storylines and provides commentary on his many passions from music, comics, movies, technology, celebrities and current events. TELETOON at Night caters to an audience of older teens and adults with a lineup of edgy animated comedies and blockbuster movies.
