Cineworld Cinemas First In UK To Feature D-BOX Motion Technology

D-BoxInnovative motion technology developer D-BOX Technologies Inc. and Cineworld Cinemas Limited, the number one grossing theatre chain in the United Kingdom, announced today their intent to equip 30 screens with D-BOX MFX Seats in upcoming months.

This purchase and licensing agreement will start with a first installation of 35 D-BOX MFX seats in March at Cineworld Glasgow, notably the tallest cinema in the world. This marks the first commercial theatre circuit to launch D-BOX MFX Seats in the UK.

“This deal marks a major milestone for us as we continue to experience strong, steady growth overseas with Cineworld Cinemas, the UK’s number one cinema chain (according to 2011 box office sales), demonstrating their commitment to providing the most innovative and technologically advanced theatrical presentations in the UK,” stated President and CEO of D-BOX Technologies, Claude Mc Master. “Ultimately, this agreement reinforces the appeal of our business model and speaks to the growing demand for motion technology in the cinema industry around the world.”

The six initial, confirmed Cineworld Cinemas locations include:

  • Cineworld Glasgow Renfrew Street
  • Cineworld Milton Keynes
  • Cineworld Crawley
  • Cineworld The O2 Greenwich, London
  • Cineworld Castleford West Yorkshire
  • Cineworld Didsbury, Manchester
