Canadian Deals App Taps the iTunes Top 10

bargainmooseCanadian deal community, BargainMoose.ca has launched a mobile application that uses the power of online community to highlight the best bargains online. It appears as though Canadians are hungry for deals, as the app has quickly broke into the top 10 free mobile downloads in Apple’s app store, within the Finance category.

Anna Waters, founder of Bargainmoose.ca, says, “After spending a fortune on holiday shopping over the last month or so, I think many people are finding their finances are a bit stretched. Canadians are looking for ways to shave a few extra bucks off their weekly spend, and the Bargainmoose deals app is helping them do that.”

Available for both Apple iPhone/iPad and all Android devices, the app displays all the best deals from major brand names like Amazon.ca, Best Buy, Dell, Wal-Mart and Chapters Indigo.  Mobile users join the thousands of Canadian shoppers in the active Bargainmoose community – commonly known as the Bargainmoosers – to discover and share the best deals.

“Bargainmoosers vote on the latest shopping bargains, bringing the hottest deals and freebies to the forefront,” Waters continued.  “The voting system ensures the deals are of good quality and relevant to Canadian consumers. Some deep discounts only last a few hours, so the app sends out notifications to help people grab the best deals instantly.”

Sometimes speed can be the biggest factor in getting the deal. Last month, in a PR storm, Zellers released a printable coupon for a 50% discount on almost all merchandise, including sale items. Shoppers used the printable coupon instantly to get deep discounts. Not expecting such an overwhelming demand, the merchant released a retraction of the coupon within a day.

Anna continues, “The customers that got in early and used the printable coupon on the first day had no troubles, whereas those trying to use it later were turned away. The Bargainmoose deals app tries to get you the best deals as soon as they’re available, making sure you don’t miss out.”

Download the Bargainmoose deals app at iTunes or the Android marketplace.
