Fibre Optic Network Coming To More Manitoba Towns In 2012
Manitoba residents in Neepawa, Minnedosa, Killarney and Carberry will soon enjoy the next generation of high definition television and faster broadband connections when MTS deploys its fibre-to-the-home network (FiON) to these four communities in 2012.

The next generation network supplies a huge amount of bandwidth directly into customers’ homes, providing excellent support for MTS’s current telephone and high-speed Internet services, while laying the groundwork for delivering new services for many years to come.
Customers on MTS’s fibre optic network will have access to the most advanced consumer telecommunications services that MTS offers including its industry-leading MTS Ultimate TV and a new suite of high-speed Internet products with speeds up to 25 Mbps and potential future speeds of over 100 Mbps.
The award winning MTS Ultimate TV service provides Manitobans with one of the most feature-rich television services in Canada, delivering more than 100 HD channels and the industry leading Whole Home PVR service that can record and playback TV programs on any connected TV in the home.
MTS is investing $125 million over five years to deploy its FiON fiber-to-the-home network to 120,000 homes and enable MTS Ultimate TV service in more than 20 communities in Manitoba. MTS Ultimate TV is currently available to 95 per cent of Winnipeg households, and in Brandon, Portage La Prairie and a growing number of homes in Selkirk, Steinbach and Dauphin.
