Salvation Army Warns of Door-to-Door Canvassing

posted in National News By: | Print This Post Print This Post

The Salvation Army is issuing a warning to Canadians nationwide regarding a door-to-door Christmas collection scam. Over the weekend and early this week, The Salvation Army has received complaints about an individual going door to door in Barrie soliciting monetary and toy donations on behalf of The Salvation Army.

This individual is NOT authorized to collect donations for The Salvation Army. It is important to remember that The Salvation Army does NOT go door to door to collect monetary donations. Barrie Police Service has been notified. If somebody comes to your door collecting for The Salvation Army, please inform the police of this incident.

Anyone wishing to donate to The Salvation Army is invited to drop their gift into a Christmas Kettle, at their local Salvation Army office, online at SalvationArmy.ca or by phone 800-SAL-ARMY.
