IMGA Boosts Prize Money To 1 Million Euro With ProSiebenSat.1 Games Deal

IMGAThe International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) have announced the Platinum Sponsorship of ProSiebenSat.1 Games, the second largest media group in Europe. As well as supporting the Awards as a sponsor, ProSiebenSat.1 Games will give IMGA winners access to their expertise in the field of integrated communications through a package of media exposure worth up to one million euros.

The rewards offered by ProSiebenSat.1 Games will include a fantastic 400,000€ media package for the Grand Prix winner and a media package of 100,000€ for each of the six category winners. The partnership with the IMGA will run for the next three years, until the IMGA’s 10th anniversary in February 2014.

“This is a historic agreement and clearly demonstrates the growing interest in mobile games,” said Maarten Noyons, founder and CEO of the IMGA . ” I am very proud that ProSiebenSat.1 Games has chosen to reach out to game developers through the IMGA. This deal is really good news for the mobile games industry and will consolidate the IMGA’s position as the industry’s most influential competition and Awards.”

The IMGA, currently in their 8th year, are the mobile gaming industry’s leading awards for the best mobile games in the world. Over the past seven years, IMGA juries have reviewed 1,500 games from more than 52 countries.

Entries are open to individuals around the globe, both big and small studios as well as publishers. The competition is open to games made for any mobile handset platform – the deadline for entries is 16 January 2012 – there is no entry fee. The winners will be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 1 March 2012.

  • Best Casual Game
  • Best Social Game
  • Best Real World Game
  • Best Sport Game
  • Most Innovative Game

Alongside ProSiebenSat.1 Games, the IMGA are pleased to announce the Gold Sponsorship of Tencent (China), one of the largest online companies in the world. Other Gold Sponsors include ARM, who have sponsored the IMGA for the last 4 years, and Euroméditerranée the founding sponsor of the IMGA. KOCCA, the South Korean government agency has signed up for Silver Sponsor this year.
