Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada Launches App Made by Kids to Help Kids

rmhc [1]Ronald McDonald House Charities [2] (RMHC®) Canada has launched Kidscape on iTunes, the first app made by kids to help kids. A special and innovative game, Kidscape is one of the first gaming apps to features images drawn by kids, with all artwork done by children staying at Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada.

The Kidscape app, which is available in three different versions – city, farm and space – is unlike other apps available on the market. It allows users to connect with the kids that drew the pictures, with the game play experience taking you inside a child’s imagination.

“Kidscape is a modern day lemonade stand, providing a fun and wonderful way to raise money for the Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada, and support the families and children staying at a House,” says Cathy Loblkidscape screen [3]aw, Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. “The app takes place in a happy and imaginative virtual world that engages people of all ages to play a game while making a difference.”

Developed by Trajectory Sales Enablement [4], Kidscape was created using aggregated drawings from kids staying at Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada and turning them into a fully animated game with fun sound effects. The game also features a special gallery of the original drawings provided by the House kids.

“This is the first time we developed an app without knowing what the end product would look like before we started. The children staying at the Ronald McDonald Houses led the way, and we went where their drawings took us,” says Bennett Pearl, President, Trajectory Sales Enablement. “It was great to be part of a process where the kids were taking charge to make a difference. They were an incredible inspiration to work for.”

Kidscape is available for purchase on iTunes and will help give the gift of family to sick children whose families are staying at a Ronald McDonald House® while their children are being treated at a nearby hospital. The three different versions of the app are:
