An Insignificant Harvey Premieres in Vancouver

An airstream, a husky and a Yeti have all the makings of a unique road trip as writer/director Jeff Kopas can attest to. With recent stops in Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg, Kopas’ first feature film, An Insignificant Harvey [1], will continue on its Canadian tour with its Vancouver premiere on December 2nd at the Empire Granville 7 Cinermas. Traveling in an airstream trailer similar to one lived in by the film’s main character, Kopas has taken the film’s star husky Inca to locations across the country where the film will be screened. Kopas will be on hand for Q&A discussions at select screenings.

An Insignificant Harvey tells the story of Harvey Lippe, (Jordan Prentice, In Bruges) a little person and orphan who has never fit in. Harvey chooses to be isolated, residing in a trailer far from his job as a janitor for a local ski An Insignificant Harvey [2]resort. On a seemingly normal day, Harvey crosses paths with a stray Husky. Unable to make the dog leave, Harvey takes her in. Much to his surprise, by taking in the dog, Inca, Harvey opens a whole new world for himself – a world where his life can truly begin. As Harvey teaches all of us, An Insignificant Harvey is a movie about not feeling small, even if you are.

An Insignificant Harvey is a Canadian feature film by Vitality Media Productions [3] and Asher Films. It will be released in theatres across Canada in November and December 2011 in partnership with Telefilm Canada and KinoSmith Distribution. The Movie Network and Movie Central have partnered with Vitality Media Productions and Asher Films and will broadcast the film in the winter of 2012 following the theatrical release. Writer/Director, Jeff Kopas, combines two great cinematic traditions in An Insignificant Harvey: the coming of age and the love story. An Insignificant Harvey is a story about (quite literally) feeling small and inadequate within the World we live – a theme everyone can relate to.
