Nick and Sophie Tweed-Simmons to visit Vancouver Technical Secondary

After meeting and spending some time with Gene Simmons and family at the Hastings Racecourse this past summer, Rosanna Saraceno wanted nothing more than to share this amazing experience with her schoolmates at Vancouver Technical Secondary. With the help of Howard Blank, First Vice President of Variety, the Children’s Charity of B.C. and a friend of the Simmons-Tweed family, Nick and Sophie accepted this special request to address future leaders. One such leader is Rosanna Saraceno who became instant friends with Nick and Sophie.

Rosanna will be given the honour to introduce Nick and Sophie Tweed-Simmons to Van Tech Secondary on Thursday, November 24th. Nick and Sophie will take the stage and hold a special interactive question and answer session talking about their experiences, and the importance of a strong education. Over 600 sophie and nick tweed-simmonsstudents will have a chance to hear Nick and Sophie speak while students will have an opportunity to make a donation with the proceeds going to Variety the Children’s Charity.

“Each year Vancouver Technical is a leading fundraiser for the Variety Charity among all Secondary Schools in British Columbia due to the dedicated efforts of Marlene Bilesky, the Variety Club sponsor, and the many keen students she supports,” says Brent Schieman, Vice-Principal of Vancouver Technical Secondary School. “This opportunity to hear from Nick and Sophie regarding life choices and what a strong education can do is not something that comes around every day. We are excited to have these great role models speak to our students, and to have an even closer connection through Rosanna simply makes a great story.”

Blank is truly honoured to bring Nick and Sophie to Van Tech as this will be a unique experience for all the students. “A couple of years ago, the students got a chance to hear Bill Cosby speak. I know that this appearance will be as special and memorable for all.”
