Just Dance 3 Beats Out October Competition on Wii in Canada

ubisoft canadaJust Dance continues to garner positive reception from consumers as Just Dance 3 becomes the best-selling game on the Wii™ system from Nintendo for the month of October in Canada, according to today’s report from the NPD Group. Additionally, Just Dance 3 debuted on Kinect™ for Xbox 360® in October and became the top-selling Kinect-required game for that system.

Just Dance 3 was released on the Wii system from Nintendo and Kinect for Xbox 360 on October 7, 2011, and the game is already selling approximately 85 percent higher than its predecessor Just Dance 2, which was previously a Wii-exclusive title. The Just Dance franchise has produced the No. 1 Wii game for the past 12 of 13 Just Dance 3months of NPD reports (Just Dance 3 once, Just Dance 2 ten times, Just Dance Summer Party once).

“Just Dance is a blockbuster brand for Ubisoft,” said Lucile Bousquet, Marketing and Communication Director at Ubisoft Canada. “The game’s mainstream appeal has helped broaden the appeal of video games to the mass market. Ubisoft anticipates that the strong sales trend for Just Dance 3 will continue to grow as we head into the holiday season. The social aspect of the game makes it the perfect game to play during the holidays with friends and family.”

To date, the Just Dance franchise, which includes Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Just Dance Kids, Just Dance Kids 2 and Just Dance Summer Party has sold-in more than 17 million units worldwide. Ubisoft will release Just Dance 3 on the PlayStation Move for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on December 6, 2011.
