Jet Cooper Launches Design in Residence Program for Canadian Technology Accelerators
User experience agency Jet Cooper has launched Design in Residence (“DiR”), a program that provides design resources into technology accelerators across Canada. The program will be integrated into startups at Montreal’s FounderFuel, Waterloo’s VeloCity, and Toronto’s MaRS Commons in January 2012.
“The goal is to increase the success rate of Canadian startups coming to market.” said Satish Kanwar, Co-Founder and CEO of Jet Cooper. “Startups are beginning to see that with a crowded marketplace comes a very real need for product desirability and ease of use. We believe design is what’s required to go from product in-market, to significant user adoption.”
The program is a response to the growing number of technology startups that have emerged with strong engineering talent at the helm. It will provide user experience design mentorship, education and resources, while working hand-in-hand with startups stepping foot into these leading accelerators.
“FounderFuel is excited to be working with a leading design team that shares our commitment to startup success.” said Ian Jeffrey, General Manager of FounderFuel. “We see significant upside for startups that embrace user experience from the outset, and we believe this program will have a noticeable impact on the next wave of FounderFuel teams.”
