The Quebec Technology Association has announced its program for the 12th edition of Vision PDG, the exclusive forum for CEOs of Quebec information and communication technologies companies, which will take place February 22-25, 2012 at Fairmont Tremblant under the theme: “Innovation: Make it your business!”
“Innovation is a strategic imperative for company growth. The ability to innovate today means understanding the economy, continually directing creativity and integrating collaborative work methods. This is why we will be offering workshop conferences, the length of which has been extended to enable in-depth discussion of subjects that involve ICT CEOs, a veritable winter university,” according to Nicole Martel, AQT President & CEO.
Robert Austin, Chair of the “Executive program for CIO’s” at Harvard, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick and author of several books and papers on innovation and IT, will open the conference with an interactive workshop as used at the Harvard Business School on a case study related to managing innovation.
Henry Minzberg, an international reference in terms of thought and managing education, known to all leading managers, professor, Strategy and organization and Cleghorn Professor in the Faculty of Management at McGill University, will share his latest research and methods on Saturday morning by questioning CEOs on the notion of community within organizations.
“Vision PDG is an opportunity for high-level professional development where over 125 hand-picked CEOs not only provide an update on the latest innovations in leadership and management, but also discuss and do business,” stressed François Rainville, President of the Vision PDG 2012 organizing committee.
Twenty-two roundtables exclusive to CEOs on topics that they will have submitted themselves, for the transfer of management skills, thereby promoting an exchange of ideas on ways to proceed and privileged business contacts.
To ensure a context favourable to discussion, interaction and mentoring, the number of participants at Vision PDG is limited and CEOs are encouraged to invite their peers to benefit from this event, which is as exclusive as it is prestigious. A recruiting contest will be launched in the coming days to make it an event organized not only by CEOs for CEOs, but one where admission is by invitation only.
Investissement Québec 2012 CEO of the Year Award
The winner of the Investissement Québec 2012 CEO of the Year Award will be announced during Vision PDG 2012. The CEOs in attendance will choose the winner from among three finalists by secret ballot. The nomination period starts on November 1 and closes on January 17, 2012. The finalists and the winner will receive exceptional visibility thanks to a partnership with Les Affaires.
Once again this year, several business partners are supporting the forum. Their loyalty bears witness to the quality of the contacts they establish at the event and their interest in the success of Quebec’s ICT industry. Their collaboration is of crucial importance, since AQT self-finances all of its activities:
- Investissement Québec, RBC, BDC, Deloitte, KPMG
- Its media partners: Les Affaires
- Its distribution partners: Alliance numérique, CRIM and VETIQ
- Ministère du Développement économique, de l’Innovation et de l’Exportation du Québec
