ShesConnected Conference Coming Up In Two Weeks

she's connectedThe second annual ShesConnected Conference, taking place September 29 to 30, 2011 at Toronto’s Sheraton Centre, is expected to include digitally-savvy and influential Canadian women, as well as representatives from top national and international brands and agencies.

“The goal of the ShesConnected Conference is to bring digital women together with brands for networking, educational seminars and interactive forums,” says Donna Marie Antoniadis, co-founder of ShesConnected Multimedia. “The hope is that it’s a start for a long-term working relationship that benefits both the brand and the digital woman.”

“Digitally savvy Canadian women and female bloggers can sometimes find it difficult to connect with key marketing decision-makers at brands and agencies so we’re bringing them together,” says Antoniadis. “These women represent an important consumer demographic for many of Canada’s top brands.”

“We are excited to be the title sponsor of this year’s ShesConnected Conference,” says Ammar Kahn, Social Media Manager at Ford Canada. “Now more than ever, women are a key influence when it comes to household purchase decisions. In much the same way, women are also embracing the blogosphere in ever increasing numbers to form communities and motivate one another. We look forward to meeting and sharing ideas with Canada’s most connected women.”

The Conference will include networking opportunities and interactive forum sessions. There’s also a powerful line-up of confirmed speakers including Tracy Moore, host of the national TV show Cityline, and Elisa Camahort Page, co-founder and COO of BlogHer Inc., the largest women’s blogger network in the United States.

The women chosen to participate at the Conference are all registered members of ShesConnected.com, the first-ever social and professional networking site for women. They applied to be chosen for the one of the limited 200 VIP spots.

The top 200 attendees have been selected based on a special algorithm including:

  • High activity across all social media (blogs, Twitter, Facebook etc.)
  • Posting frequently on blogs, Twitter and Facebook
  • Posting high quality content
  • Interest in working with brands
  • Fit the demographic conference sponsors are targeting

“The ShesConnected Conference was a unique opportunity to connect with brands and other bloggers in a small, intimate, informative and collaborative environment,” says Christy Laverty, a top digital women attendee from last year. “It was a real meeting of the minds. From the keynote speaker, panels and the round table discussions, a great chance to exchange opinions, thoughts, perspective and know how.”
