YTV Offers Sneak Peek At The Penguins of Madagascar

YTV [1]TorontoCorus Entertainment’s [2] YTV [1] announced today a special sneak peek of the highly anticipated CGI animated comedy series, The Penguins of Madagascar [3], on Friday, June 26 at 8 p.m. Produced by Penguins of Madagascar [4]DreamWorks Animation [5], creator of the Academy Award® winning Shrek, in association with Nickelodeon, The Penguins of Madagascar will premiere on Saturday, September 12 at 9 a.m. in YTV’s Saturday morning hosted cartoon block CRUNCH.

A 26-episode series, The Penguins of Madagascar centers around the adventures of four cute unsuspecting penguins, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, as they carry out missions to maintain order and rule the roost in their habitat, New York’s Central Park Zoo. It’s not an easy feat for these determined little penguins as their nemesis and new party animal neighbour, King Julien and his lemur sidekicks Maurice and Mort, are always getting in their way.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 26, the sneak peek event will kick off with the premiere episode iCarly: iMake Sam Girlier, starring TV tween queen Miranda Cosgrove, followed by a second episode of Nickelodeon’s iCarly and the SpongeBob SquarePants’ one-hour special, Atlantis SquarePantis at 7 p.m.

Penguins of Madagascar [6]Premiering earlier this year in March on Nickelodeon, The Penguins of Madagascar became Nickelodeon’s most-watched series premiere ever, drawing over 6-million viewers. Andy Richter (Late Night with Conan O’ Brien) and Tom McGrath (co-created the Penguins characters and directed both Madagascar films) reprise their roles as Mort and Skipper from the feature films, and Nicole Sullivan (MadTV) rounds out the ensemble voice-over cast.

Throughout July and August, animated shorts of The Penguins of Madagascar will air throughout the schedule leading up to the series’ official premiere on Saturday, September 12 at 9 a.m. YTV will also provide viewers an entire week of sneak peek episodes of The Penguins of Madagascar from Monday, August 31 until Friday, September 4 at 5 p.m. (r) at 8 p.m. in The Zone hosted by Carlos.
