ParetoLogic Dual Finalists at 2009 VIATeC Awards

Pareto Logic [1]Victoria – ParetoLogic took home two VIATeC plaques at the 2009 VIATeC awards gala, claiming finalist positions in the Team of the Year and Innovative Excellence categories. VIATeC [2], the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Council, is dedicated expanding and improving Vancouver Island’s technical Pareto Awards [3]industry.

Elton Pereira, CEO and co-founder of ParetoLogic [1], said of the placing: “We are honored to be recognized by VIATeC as award finalists, and we see the strength of our competition as a great sign of the growth of Vancouver Island’s tech industry.”

ParetoLogic’s finalist trophies celebrate widely different achievements. The Team of the Year category recognizes ParetoLogic’s Spyware Analysis Team. With their continuing efforts to identify and destroy malware, and their commitment to sharing their knowledge with industry insiders and general users, SWAT fit the award description as ‘demonstrating outstanding initiative and service delivery.’ In a video interview played at the gala, Jerome Segura, SWAT’s Team Lead, said one of the group’s motivations was to “educate every customer and non-customer.”

The Innovative Excellence award celebrates a product ‘expected to revolutionize a sector, method of business, or way of life. DriverCure [4] aims to revolutionize its user’s systems, by providing an easy and user friendly solution to complex problems. In this way, users are put in control, and are able to update drivers, stop error messages, and speed up their PCs.

ParetoLogic also sponsored and presented the Tech Company of the Year award. Don Wharton, ParetoLogic’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder, gave the trophy away, saying in his speech: “We know that it isn’t luck that brings people here. It’s hard work, persistence, and a sharp eye for new and truly innovative thought. Over the years, we have been honored to have those traits recognized in ParetoLogic. Today, we are honored to recognize them in others.”
