Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth Available on iPhone

Namaste PublishingVancouverNamaste Publishing’s new iPhone app for Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth is the first in a myriad projects that the Vancouver-based book publisher is embarking on A New Earth iPhone Appto take their published material to a wider audience.

It’s no secret that the publishing world is struggling to find new readers. It’s harder to get people to crack a book these days with so many technology devices captivating their attention. The iPhone app allows Namaste to bring Tolle’s work to a wider audience.

Constance Kellough, Publisher and President of Namaste Publishing has a vision. One that sees her publishing company embracing technology to reach a global audience.

“We are taking the teachings of A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and making them bite size, easier to comprehend and fun,” says Mary Kellough, Namaste’s Director of Marketing. Namaste Publishing plans to make this the first of many applications that coincide with its elite roster of authors and their books that change your life. “We want to eliminate that intimidation factor and open up our books to a wider audience.”

The success of Eckhart Tolle’s books and his collaborations with Oprah have certainly helped to bring his books to a mainstream audience. Namaste’s mission is to take this to the next level and to foster the dialogue that is naturally happening over this material.

“We want to see Zen monks and Motorcycle Mamas reading the same books,” says Mary. “The iphone app, which will sell for $1.99 at the iTunes store, is a step towards that commitment to taking Namaste into the future.”

“There just isn’t any question that publishers need to find new ways to be publishers,” says Constance Kellough. “Our old role is dying, and a new role is taking shape. We are custodians of content, and we have to make the delivery of this content match the many new ways we access information.”

“The first thing I did was start a publisher’s blog”, says Constance Kellough, “then it was Twitter and Facebook. The opportunities are endless using the internet.”

Other digital initiatives include Namaste’s Facebook application called “Spiritual Status” and “Bizah’s blog“, a fun online presence of fictional Zen student, Bizah.

A new Namaste Publishing website is also in the works, which will host online discussion in a variety of unique ways. “If a publisher does not give its readers a place to complete the feedback loop, they are going to miss the boat”, says Constance Kellough. “It’s exciting to be part of an industry in flux. We here at Namaste are embracing it!”
