Toronto – Sony Canada today unveiled the winning designs from its This Vaio PC Is Me Contest. Canadians were given the opportunity to submit designs and share their inspirations for the latest line of VAIO FW notebook computers. The contest, which ran from October 1 through November 15, 2008, offered entrants from across the country the unique experience of working with Sony to develop an authentic and stylish product.
The winning design and runner-ups were selected from hundreds of submissions. Through the voting and submission process, Canadians were asked to vote for their favourite designs, allowing them to be part of creating a truly personalized product.
The designs submitted emphasized the wide range of personality and style that the followers of the VAIO brand have. The winning design, ‘Maple Leaf’ expresses the inner Canadian in all of us. Runner-up ‘Pink Complexity’ features a whimsical blend of pink and floral design, and runner-up ‘Fusion’ is a colourful expression inspired by the force of energy.
“Congratulations to our top winner, the runner-ups, and everyone who participated in this contest,” says Puneet Jain, director of VAIO product marketing at Sony of Canada Ltd. “This is a unique opportunity for them to be part of the Sony VAIO design process and the essence of the VAIO brand. We really enjoyed seeing so many expressions of style. The VAIO legacy speaks to our leadership in design and style.”
All three designs will be produced and available for sale in the early spring. The designs will be made into limited edition, customizable Graphic Splash FW models available exclusively at www.sonystyle.ca and select Sony Style retail locations nationwide.
